FujiTuesday Montreal: June 16, 2015

It's never a good sign when you see an 80% chance of rain on the forecast, especially when you've got a great FujiTuesday photo walk planned. After a brief rain delay of about 15 minutes or so, we were delighted to find that the clouds were parting and as you can see from the image above: the sun and blue skies came back for a gorgeous sunset! The first FujiTuesday Montreal turned out to be a complete success!

If you're not sure what FujiTuesday is, we're a group of photographers (primarily Fuji shooters) who get together on the third Tuesday of the month to share some time together. We shoot, walk and have plenty of great conversations both during the walk and after at a local pub!

FujiTuesday was started in Toronto but I really liked the idea and wanted to move it up here to Montreal as well. We've had a great response so far and the turnout for the first walk was amazing, especially considering the threat of rain!

After the rain had subsided we had a bit more clouds but then the sun came out in force. We couldn't have asked for more perfect light. In fact, I actually had to tone the saturation and vibrancy down slightly on some of these images because the RAW colors just popped so much. The natural light looked fake to me. That's a first.

Here's a few shots of the group "in action" as well as a few shots from my edits.

After this week's walk, we found ourselves at one of my favorite new places in the Old Port: Nero Tapas at 42 McGill. It was the perfect way to cap off the night!
